Father's Love Wins His Son Back

What makes an argumentative and skeptical man convert over night? It is Father’s unlimited love, the only key to transform a heart of stone into a heart of flesh.

K was baptized on Aug. 8. 2009 (it happened to be Father’s Day in Taiwan ^__^). He refused to do so at the first time. But actually God had been moving upon his heart and invited him to go home already. Just few days before I asked him, he had a dream at night and saw himself was baptized by me. Therefore, when I inquired about his willingness to be baptized, he was kind of shocked. But he still rejected it for he thought he was not ready yet (and was still reading "Why I am not a Chrisitian" by the British philosopher Russell). However, he received an email from his auntie in China later, telling him that his step sister just died of leukemia recently. Due to his family background, he seldom cares about his step sister even thought he knows she’d been sick since she was born. Suddenly, he felt he was so narrow-minded and limited. He used to think that knowledge and civilization can lead us into the right direction and a better life; however, at that moment, he realized that love is the most important thing in life and there was no love in science. No matter how much success he may achieve in the future, if he doesn't know how to love, all is empty. He decided to accept the love from Jesus and start to love people as soon as possible. After being baptized, he made a decision to forgive his father and step mother. The most amazing thing is that, his father called him that evening to encourage him to call his step mother and talk to her.

I humbled myself before the Lord when I heard his testimony. God did it! Only Jesus’s abundant grace can lead people to repent. His love never fails and wins many sons back to the family. Jesus came that we may reconcile with Father God and with people. Everything is done through the cross, by which we enter into His glorious kingdom and find the way home.

Father God, do only what you can do! Come and satisfy our affections and souls perfectly and permanently. Reveal Your glory and beauty to this world. Win your sons back with your consuming fire of love. Win the hearts of those intellectuals, either on campuses or market place. Your ways will be known on earth and Your salvation will be desired among all nations!
